Scandinavian Cookie Ornament Decorating Class
-Make 4 traditional Norwegian Cookie designs
Pepperkaker is a mainstay of cookies for most Scandinavian homes at Christmas. This type of gingerbread is baked with imported mølk sirup, various spices, and hartshorn to make them crisp.
The cookies are cut into large shapes and then tied with ribbon and hung on trees.
In this class, a fully translated recipe will be provided for you to make papermaker at home, along with American substitutions. Each student will be provided with 3 cookies to decorate, a piping bag of almond royal icing, and ribbon for hanging.
A brief discussion of piping instruction and traditional techniques will be provided; but participants are encouraged to decorate as they please.
