Watercolor Wednesday: Scenic Sunset at the Lake

Capture the beauty of those last golden evenings of summer as we paint a peaceful lakeside sunset complete with a glowing gradient sky, soft lifted clouds, layered mountain silhouettes, shimmering reflections, and a delicate crescent moon hinting at the changing seasons.

This class is best suited for those who have painted with watercolor before or have taken a class with us here at the studio.

We’ll begin with a brief warm-up to refresh a few essential techniques before quickly diving into our project to allow plenty of time for our first layers to dry. To make the most of our class, we’ll be working on two smaller paintings at once, allowing us to bounce back and forth between them as each layer dries. This keeps the painting process moving while teaching the importance of patience and layering in watercolor.
